So how do we stay engaged and curious? How do we continue to be inspired and to learn, as we begin to move forward to a new, more flexible way of life? 


This story explores the solution I have found to meet this question: as summer approaches, I have challenged myself to try out one new discovery every week.

We all have an item (or several!) in our wardrobe that tells a story. About us. About life. About inspiration. About art. About possibilities. My most treasured item is a magnificent pair of vivid blue satin Manolo Blahnik stilettos, adorned with shimmering Swarovski crystals. 


This story reveals one example of the true significance behind the style choices that we make, through a personal account of self-discovery that began with a pair of Manolo's, a healthy dose of self-belief, a one-way plane ticket, and a dream for a future full of possibilities.

EMBRACING THE SMALL THINGS

My first published article for The Strategy, a beautifully curated fashion and lifestyle site.

Whilst the majority of the world remains at home, this story focuses on appreciating the small things that bring a little joy to our days. Whether it's the things we need daily - the essential morning flat white, fresh air, call with a friend, to the things we enjoy - gold demi-fine jewellery, silk pyjamas, a Tom Ford spritz! Collectively we have needed to adapt significantly, but that doesn't mean that we can't do so gracefully, (or disgracefully as the case may be!) and find delight through small ways to express ourselves creatively.

INSPIRATION

March 2021

This piece was written at the beginning of my writing journey during the pandemic, as I discovered that writing was the creative outlet I could use to connect with people and the wider world around me in a whole new way. A life changing silver lining, and the piece that marks the beginning of a whole new chapter.
